Nine years ago Franz Ferdinand were amongt the bands that contributed to the Colours are Brighter collection of children's songs curated by Belle and Sebastian, to raise funds for Save the Children.

The album was the brainchild of Belle and Sebastian trumpet player Mick Cooke.

Franz Ferdinand's song Jackie Jackson, a story about a boy who eats cakes until he bursts, was recorded while they were on tour in Australia.

Also in the line-up are the Barclaycard Mercury Prize-winning hip hop band from Edinburgh, Young Fathers.
