THE FAMILY of a man who has been missing for 12 days have appealed to hillwalkers to help find him following the discovery of his car.

Peter Graham, 54, was last seen by family on Sunday October 4 as he was dropping his son Lewis off at Bishopbriggs Leisuredrome around 1.30pm.

The Robroyston man was seen driving off in a silver Vauxhall Zafira, registration SA58 WDF but has not been in touch since.

Police and his nephew Stephen have now issued a fresh appeal for help to find him after his car was found on Thursday night on Emerson Road, near Bishopbriggs train station.

He was also captured on CCTV in a BetFred bookmakers in Cowgate, Kirkintilloch round 5.15pm on Sunday October 4.

As previously reported by the Evening Times, Peter's son Lewis celebrated his 14th birthday earlier this week and his family were very concerned that he had not been in touch for the occasion.

His nephew Stephen told how his uncle was a postman, and an avid hillwalker, and spoke of his fears that something may have happened to him if he had been out walking.

Now Stephen has asked hillwalkers and drivers in the area near Kirkintilloch to keep their eyes peeled for his uncle.

The family will also be issuing flyers in the area in the hope of finding him.

Stephen said: "Peter's car has been found in Bishopbriggs and he was last seen in Kirkintilloch.

"We're now going to attempt to get flyers out to these areas.

"Anyone anyone who goes hillwalking or is driving through the countryside between East Dunbartonshire & Stirling, be vigilant and keep an eye out for Peter."

Police have also issued a fresh appeal for the public to help trace Peter, and are reviewing CCTV footage from train station platforms.

They have also released CCTV from the BetFred shop and said he often travelled to the Campsie and Carron Valley areas for hillwalking and fishing.

Chief Inspector Stephen Hazlett said: “We are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries in trying to locate Peter.

"The fact that he has missed his son’s 14th birthday is giving us cause for concern – he is very close to his son and has never missed a birthday.

"If anyone thinks they may have seen Peter or who may have any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts, please do contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Shettleston Police Office on 101.
