MICHELLE Mone gave Prime Minister David Cameron a gift of clothing last year during the time of the independence referendum, it has been revealed.

Previously, there had been speculation that the present was underwear, but it has now been confirmed as a woolly jumper.

The lingerie entrepreneur gave Cameron the gift in 2014, but details were released this week by the Cabinet Office.

The has been kept by the office and registered on official papers because of its value - Ministers are not allowed to keep gifts worth over £140.

Earlier in the week, the reality TV star took her seat in the House of Lords, under the title Baroness Mone of Mayfair.

Baroness Mone and her husband Michael Mone founded a small but high-profile bra and underwear business in 1996 but announced she had left the firm in August after another year of losses in 2014. She is one of 45 new peers announced by David Cameron in August
