A 9ft pet snake which disappeared in Dundee has been found – in its owner’s house.

The slithering reptile was reported missing in Portree Avenue in Broughty Ferry on Tuesday.

Police issued a warning to locals about the snake, which was the “thickness of an arm”, describing it as “very docile”.

Officers said it was no risk to the public but urged people to be on the lookout.

On Wednesday morning, police confirmed it had been found safe at its owner’s home address.
