Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses after around 40 vehicles were vandalised at a garage forecourt.

The incident happened at around 5am on Saturday at an Arnold Clark premises on Carberry Road in Kirkcaldy.

The vehicles were broken into and then vandalised resulting in significant damage estimated to total a five-figure sum.

Police are now asking anyone who noticed unusual behaviour in the area around the time of this incident to get in touch.

PC Kevin Deehan of Police Scotland said: “At this time we are working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the damage caused.

“Officers are continuing inquiries and will be studying CCTV images in an effort to glean further information.

“Given the scale of the damage caused, there would have been considerable noise and I would urge anyone who remembers hearing or seeing anything suspicious to come forward."
