STAFF from a Scottish firm have battled the elements to raise £6,800 for charity.

Some 35 staff from the Glasgow and Edinburgh offices of property and construction consultancy, Gleeds, raised the money with a triathlon-style event.

Consultants from Glasgow hiked, mountain-biked and swam a total of 63 miles around Loch Lomond, while the Edinburgh team took part in a 14-mile trek through the Pentland Hills.

The proceeds went to Cancer Research UK and St Columba’s Hospice.

The drive formed part of a global charity drive where 1500 staff across the company's international offices attempted to raise £130,000 for charity in one week -- one hundred pounds for every year the organisation has been in business.
