A woman has been hit by a car in Glasgow’s east end.

Police say she has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary but the extent of her injuries is unknown.

She was struck in Balcomie Street in Ruchazie, near the junction with Gartcraig Road.

Police have asked witnesses to come forward.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “A woman who is believe to be in her 30s was struck by a car in Balcomie Street at 4.05pm. We don’t know extent of injuries but she was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should call 101.”
