Man arrested in connection with Edinburgh cemetery rape
A man has appeared in court charged over an alleged rape in an Edinburgh cemetery.
A 20-year-old woman was assaulted in Eastern Cemetery off Easter Road in the capital in the early hours of Saturday, September 19.
She had been on a night-out and began walking after realising there were no buses due.
Police made an arrest yesterday and Mark Lowe, 24, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today charged with rape and sexual assault.
He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody ahead of a second court appearance next week.
