A man who died following an accident involving a combine harvester has been named.

Emergency services were called to the scene at a farm in New Deer, Aberdeenshire, at about 3.15pm on Tuesday following a report of an industrial accident.

Ian Chalmers, 71, died at the scene.

Police said there were no apparent suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

The Health and Safety Executive has been informed and an investigation is being carried out. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal in due course, police said.
