A giant spider appeared to be hanging over motorists driving on the Kessock Bridge this morning.

Traffic Scotland tweeted a picture of the giant arachnid descending on the bridge in Inverness at 6.43am.

The picture was accompanied by the caption:"Spiders are taking over #A9 #Kessock Bridge in Inverness! Had to switch cam over as it's giving me the creeps eekk!"

The picture was taken from one of Traffic Scotland's traffic cameras.

Traffic Scotland tweeted a similar picture of a spider on the lens of a camera last month.

The arachnid invasion picture follows an image tweeted by Traffic Scotland yesterday of a spider web hanging in front of one of its cameras on the M74 near Hamilton.
