THE SNP's 56 MPs will tomorrow (Thurs) stage a joint event marking the anniversary of the independence referendum and the publication of a new edition of Alex Salmond's memoir, The Dream Shall Never Die.

The party's MPs will meet on College Green, overlooking the Palace of Westminster, on the eve of the referendum anniversary.

The event has been organised by Aberdeenshire SNP.

The new edition of Mr Salmond's account of the referendum campaign has been expanded to include a section on May's General Election, when the SNP increased its tally of MPs from six to 56, and its immediate aftermath.

Sir Sean Connery, a long-time supporter of independence, reads the book's final "rallying cry" in a new audio edition.
