Man appears in court charged with rape of teenage girl in Edinburgh
A man has appeared in court charged with raping a teenager in Edinburgh city centre.
The 18-year-old woman was attacked outside the Primark store on Princes Street at about 4am on Saturday.
Johnathan Duffy appeared in private at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today where he was charged under section one of the 2009 Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act, the Crown Office said.
The 20-year-old, from Edinburgh, made no plea or declaration and the case was continued for further examination.
He was remanded in custody and is expected to return to court again later this month.
