Trains between Edinburgh and Glasgow have been disrupted after a man was found trespassing on the tracks.

British transport police were called to reports of a man on the line near Linlithgow station around 3.15pm.

Scotrail issued a statement on Twitter advising passengers of delays on the route between the capital and Glasgow Queen Street until around 4.30pm.

The rail firm tweeted: "Due to trespassers on the railway near Linlithgow, Edinburgh-Glasgow via Falkirk/Dunblane trains delayed...

"We’re expecting disruption to continue until at least 4.30 this afternoon."
