A pensioner has lost her heirlooms following a break-in at a house in Falkirk.

Jewellery worth tens of thousands of pounds was stolen from the house in Parkview Avenue between 4.30pm and 10.50pm on Thursday, September 10.

The pensioner was visiting family during the break-in.

The stolen jewellery included rings engraved with dates from 1957 and 1958, an 'S' shaped brooch and an 18 carat pendant with a topaz stone.

Police are now urging anyone with information to get in touch.

Sergeant David Ferguson said: “This was a despicable crime targeting an elderly woman’s home and stealing jewellery that is very important to her due to the memories attached.

“I urge anyone who has information or who may have been offered the jewellery for sale, to please get in touch.”
