Firefighters are battling a blaze at a biscuit factory in Glasgow.

United Biscuits, which makes McVitie’s Digestives, Jaffa Cakes and Hobnobs, caught fire shortly before 5pm.

The blaze began in the roof of the two-storey building in Tollcross Road.

Two fire engines and an aerial appliance are at the scene.

There are no reports of any casualties.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “A report came in at 4:56pm of a fire at a biscuit factory building in Tollcross Road, Tollcross.

“Two pumps and an aerial appliance are currently in attendance. The fire is under control. It is an external fire in the roof.”
