A car and a lorry have collided in Glasgow’s east end causing delays for drivers in the area.

Police are at the scene of the incident in Edinburgh Road, between Barrachnie Road and Springcroft Drive.

The condition of the drivers of the car and lorry is unknown.

The eastbound carriageway is closed and motorists are being diverted.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “At 4:15pm police called to a report of road crash between a car and a lorry.

“Emergency services are in attendance and Edinburgh Road is closed eastbound between Barrachnie Road and Springcroft Drive.”

Staff at the council’s traffic centre, Traffcom, urged motorists to find alternative routes.

Duty Network Controller John Gallagher said: “Road users are advised to avoid this area and delays should be expected.”
