A MAN has died in a major incident at a farm in West Lothian.

The 27-year-old was electrocuted when his tipper truck collided with an 11,000 volt power cable at Humbie Holdings near Kirknewton

Two ambulances, a paramedic and a special response unit were sent to the incident just after 5.30pm on Wednesday afternoon, but despite their efforts the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood that Police Scotland is still trying to reach members of his family, and no further details have been made public.

However, there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Police in West Lothian were called to Humbie Holdings near Kirknewton at around 5:50pm yesterday (Wednesday, June 3) following the sudden death of a 27-year-old man.

"Officers and the Scottish Ambulance Services attended however, despite best efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
