An investigation has been launched after a man fell from a window at a hospital.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee at about 10.10am today.

It is thought he may have fallen around three storeys.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that officers attended an incident in the area of Ninewells at 10.10am this morning after reports of concerns for a man. Enquiries are ongoing."

The Scottish Ambulance Service attended but said that doctors and nurses from the hospital took the patient into the A&E department.

An NHS Tayside spokeswoman said: "There was an incident in Ninewells earlier today. Due to patient confidentiality it would not be appropriate to comment."
