GRUFFALO author Julia Donaldson has sold the Scottish home where she wrote her famous books.
The children's author put the house in Bearsden, near Glasgow, on the market earlier this year after deciding to move back to England.
Donaldson and her husband Malcolm, a senior researcher in child health at Glasgow University, had lived at the property since moving north of the Border 25 years ago.
It was there she created her much-loved characters including the Gruffalo and Princess Mirror-Belle.
The Victorian villa was advertised by estate agents Rettie for offers of more than £595,000.
Donaldson, 65, is one of the most prolific authors in the UK, with more than 180 published works to her name. The Gruffalo has sold more than 10 million copies.
