GLASGOW Royal Concert Hall has played host to hundreds of stars over the years – but rarely like this.

Betty Grable, Laurel and Hardy, Bing Crosby, Charlton Heston, Sophia Loren, Yul Brynner and Scotland's own Deborah Kerr are featured in an exhibition at the venue.

The second City of Stars exhibition has been curated by Alison Kerr, a former Herald journalist who was responsible for last year's successful inaugural exhibition. The photographs are from the archives of The Herald and Evening Times.

Ms Kerr is pictured adjusting a photograph of Herbert Lom, Jimmy Logan and George Raft, at Connells' store, in Glasgow's Union street, in July 1952. Ms Kerr is also seen with a photograph of Fred and his sister Adele Astaire.
