SCOTTISH Government buildings will fly their flags at half-mast today out of respect for Baroness Thatcher.

It follows an announcement earlier this week by the Department for Culture in Whitehall that all UK Government buildings would fly their flags at half-mast from dawn to dusk.

A Scottish Government spokesman said: "Flags at Scottish Government buildings will be flown at half-mast on Wednesday to mark the funeral of Baroness Thatcher of Kesteven."

It is Scottish Government practice for flags on its buildings to be flown at half-mast as a mark of respect on the day of the funeral or memorial service for UK prime ministers.
