PRIMARY school pupils Jennifer Baxter, Brandon McLaughlin and Cathryn O'Neill get set for mischief as they join Horrid Henry and author Francesca Simon to celebrate World Book Day.

Ms Simon took part in a live broadcast, organised by the Scottish Book Trust, to more than 55,000 children in the UK, telling them the insider gossip about her naughty anti-hero who has become a global phenomenon.

Chris Newton, of the Scottish Book Trust, said: "Horrid Henry has encouraged many children to explore the pleasure of reading."
