A WIFE accused of luring her husband to his death in a woodland glade
took part in bizarre bondage sex sessions with both her lover and
strangers, the Old Bailey was told yesterday.
It was also alleged that during secret trysts with chauffeur Terence
Bewley, Sandra Wignall had sex with him and posed for photographs in her
underwear in the back of Rolls-Royce cars.
Mrs Wignall's friend and neighbour in Rowhurst Avenue, Addlestone,
Surrey, Mrs Christine Willis, told the murder trial: ''She was talkative
about her private life. She spoke to me about her relationships with
various men.''
Mrs Wignall was allegedly obsessed with Mr Bewley. Mrs Willis said
48-year-old Mrs Wignall described meeting him at garages where the
Rolls-Royces he used in his work were kept.
''She met him to have sex in the Rolls-Royces and she showed me a
couple of photographs of her in the cars dressed in her underwear,'' she
said.
The pair had argued once but Mr Bewley came around after a few weeks
and said he had a present for her.
''She told me he blindfolded her and tied her to the bed and brought a
man in to have sex with her while Mr Bewley was present.
''It was someone she did not know. It happened again once. She thought
it was with a different man -- one had a moustache and the other one did
not,'' said Mrs Willis.
Mrs Wignall told her she started having a sexual relationship with
widower Bob Wignall in May 1991, when he comforted her after Mr Bewley
broke off their relationship.
The prosecution alleges Mrs Wignall resumed her relationship with Mr
Bewley within nine days of marrying Mr Wignall.
She allegedly became bored with the marriage and, after nine months,
lured Mr Wignall into woods near their home on the pretext of feeding
foxes.
It is alleged Mr Bewley and his friend Harold Moult were there and
attacked Mr Wignall while his wife distracted him by performing oral
sex. He was battered and stabbed twice through the heart.
The court was told the twin motives for the murder were lust and
greed. Mrs Wignall stood to gain #21,000 from her husband's life
insurance policy and Mr Bewley was deeply in debt.
Mrs Wignall, Mr Bewley, 43, of Ruislip, London, and Mr Moult, 42, of
Ladywood, Birmingham, deny murder last September.
The trial was adjourned until today.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
