ALLY McCoist and Duncan Ferguson formed a striking partnership for the

first time last night and shared five goals as Rangers Reserves defeated

their Morton counterparts 8-0 in Linlithgow.

Ferguson took top billing with four second-half goals, the best coming

from a great glancing header, but the #4m player also caught the eye

with some delightful touches in poor conditions.

Having returned as a substitute on Saturday at Ibrox, McCoist netted

Rangers' fourth goal and linked well with Ferguson before departing

after 75 minutes, clearly satisfied with his night's work.

Also on the comeback trail were Andy Goram and Dave McPherson. Goram,

in his first outing since the Scottish Cup final last May, was a virtual

spectator yet remained alert enough to make a full-length save from

Barry McClelland late in the game.

On an evening dominated by the appearance of four Scottish caps and

also Oleg Kuznetsov, Rangers other scorers were Craig Moore, Kevin

Fotheringham, and Steven Pressley.
