GLASGOW District Council will use explosives to raze a 19-storey block

of flats in Bogany Terrace, Castlemilk, in March. The #270,898

operation, involving 350kg of explosives packed into 4000 holes in the

building, will be the third time the council has demolished a building

in this way. The razing of the 114-flat block is part of housing

strategy to improve Castlemilk. The council plans to demolish another 14

blocks of post-war tenements in Bogany Terrace by conventional means.
