A BADLY injured man leaped into the water to escape flames after his cabin cruiser blew up as he got ready to go on a fishing trip. Joseph Murray, 37, of Kinghorne Walk, Dundee, was trying to start the 21ft-long Selina in Tayport Harbour, Fife, on Saturday morning when it exploded.

He was taken to Dundee Royal Infirmary suffering from burns to his face and arms. His condition was described last night as serious but not life threatening. A police spokesman said: ''The cause of the fire would appear to have been a short-circuit in the wiring. This cause a spark which then ignited petrol fumes.
