Conference B
Statisticians live for days like Saturday when all three 100% records were shattered, a new individual milestone was reached, and another was gratefully avoided.
Despite being held to a draw at Drumpellier, West of Scotland, for whom professional Corey Richards stroked a majestic unbeaten 167, emerged as outright leaders, while Carlton and Stoneywood-Dyce tasted defeat for the first time.
Records of a different sort were on the agenda at the other end of the table, where Strathmore's Nigel Hazel was relieved not to set a new club landmark for the longest run of ducks.
Hazel went into Saturday's clash with Corstorphine at Lochside Park knowing that another two blanks would see him pass the 30-year-old club record of seven in a row.
Caution was naturally the watchword for the nervous
opener who occupied the crease for his side's full 50 overs, only reaching his half-century towards the end.
He could take extra satisfaction from the fact that his contribution had helped Strathmore to another notable first - their maiden Conference win when they reached 198 for six, then bowled out Corstorphine for 86.
However, the day belonged to the amazing Aussie Richards.
With three 50s to his name already in his short time at Partick, Richards decided it was time really to show his prowess on the visit to Langloan.
His record-breaking knock, including nineteen 4s and three 6s, effectively putting victory beyond Drumpellier's reach, though the Coatbride side hung on gamely for a draw.
It might have been different, however, had a difficult chance been taken when Richards edged Scott Purdie early on. With Alistair Storie already gone, West would have had a real fight on their hands.
Instead the luckless bowler had one of those days he'd rather forget with 80 runs plundered from his 13 overs as West raced to 263 for five.
Craig Wright set about the Drumpellier batting, and although he managed superb figures of five for 27, the Coatbridge side held out on 132 for nine.
Carlton met another pro in good nick, Poloc's Mohammed Ramzan, who hit his second ton in three starts before being run out for 110.
Poloc's 210 for seven gave them an easy winin an easy win at Shawholm as they bowled out their visitors for 125.
Falkland continued their improvement, their 147 too much for Stoneywood-Dyce, all out for 98, while RHSM's 123 for fourpassed Perthshire's 119 all out.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
