POLICE are investigating an incident in which a Glasgow firefighter suffered burns to his face as he opened the door of the stolen car. Police later found two unexploded gas canisters in the back of the vehicle, leading to fears it may have been booby-trapped as part of an on-going family feud.

The 40-year-old was treated at Southern General Hospital and released later that day. The incident happened in Percy Street, Ibrox, early on Saturday. No-one else was injured. The cause of the fire is being treated as wilful and police inquiries are continuing.
