THE incoming Moderator of the General Assembly emphasised the need to listen more carefully to hear the word of God in the age of communication. Delivering the traditional assembly sermon at St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh, the Rt Rev Alan Main said: ''Our daily listening is assailed by all kinds of communication. Because it is, ordinarily we block much of it out, being touched most by what shouts loudest.''
