All by myself: workman Rob Rooke had Scotland's only open air, council swimming pool to himself yesterday, the hottest day of the year. Inverclyde Council said the 89-year-old Gourock Pool used to be open all year but the water proved too cold for swimmers. The pool, also closed for the refurbishment of the nearby gym, opens for the summer on May 31.
