ON a perfect summer afternoon in the company of several thousand others I watched a most entertaining and sporting game of football. The result of Arthurlie's 4 - 0 triumph over Pollok was not really relevant other than to the fervent and passionate supporters of both clubs! The standard was a testament to the wellbeing of Scottish junior football.

Well done to both clubs, not just for the entertainment but for the manner in which both teams showed generosity of spirit one to the other in success and defeat. Truly the old adage of ''treating success and failure as impostors . . . '' was never better exemplified. Well done the lads - from both camps!
