A FURTHER 28 people were arrested in Glasgow yesterday as part of Strathclyde Police's anti-drugs initiative Operation Caesar, bringing the total number of arrests to date to 70, writes Chris Starrs.

The operation - one of the biggest of its kind in Strathclyde - began on Friday when officers held four people, before detaining 38 more during a series of raids across the city on Monday.

They also seized around #500,000 worth of drugs and allegedly stolen goods.

The latest arrests were made in the north and west of the city. A small amount of heroin and a four-figure sum of money were also found.

A police spokeswoman said last night that more arrests were possible.
