THE former ABC cinema in Glasgow's Sauchiehall Street is to be turned into a #10m leisure complex.
A nightclub, restaurants, and bars will replace the 70-year-old cinema next year. Morrison Developments is also considering creating a health and fitness centre or a snooker hall.
ABC announced last year that the cinema - the city's oldest - was to close because of competition from multiplex sites in and around Glasgow. In addition, two new huge movie complexes are planned for the city, one near the St Enoch's Centre and one on the site of the former Apollo concert hall.
