AN elderly woman who is believed to have been injured when she was hit with a frying pan during a dispute between neighbours has died, police said yesterday.

Mrs Isabel Brown, 74, died in the Mayday Hospital in Croydon, South London. It is thought she was hurt in an incident on Saturday when she was struck twice on the head with the heavy pan after intervening in an argument between her son and a neighbour in Warren Avenue, South Croydon. A 32-year-old man was yesterday remanded in custody on a charge of attempting to murder Mrs Brown.
