IF eating out is one of your pleasures be prepared to arouse your palate with the delights of Italian cooking served up by masters of this genre at La Villa, a new Trattoria and Pizzeria newly opened at 679 Pollokshaws Road in Glasgow's South Side.
Long time experienced in the dining out business, owners Tony Pierotti and Mario Lombardini, who already run the well-established and popular La Fiorentina and La Vecchia Romagna have completely refurbished this new venture where the decor theme is focused on famous Italian villas.
To guarantee that the aficionado of Mediterranean cooking is satiated, the partnership has engaged the services of renowned chef Tony Rapuano (Il Guaglione to his devotees) whose mastery of that unique Italian taste is legend. But although the quality and selection is superb, prices are extremely keen for the culinary gems on offer.
La Villa caters for everybody: the menu gives a wide and varied selection of dishes for one person, special meals for two or four and families will be delighted at a choice children's menu. Tony Pierotti said that he incorporated the best dishes from his other restaurants, adding new and exclusive offers which patrons are eager to endorse.
He explained: ''This is why we have introduced 'specials' such as the Celebration Dinner''; a sumptuous feast with a choice of aperitif, starters, bottles of wine, wide selection of main courses, delightful desserts, coffee or tea and Italian biscuits with a liqueur to add a ''feel good'' glow, all inclusive at #29.50 for two.

An early evening special one-course dinner and coffee at #4.95 is ideal for those who don't have time to go home and cook before heading out again.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
