BASS TAVERNS is to open a restaurant within one of Edinburgh's most prestigious modern office blocks. The 3790sq ft restaurant in Clydesdale Bank Plaza, a 100,000sq ft office scheme at The Exchange by developers CALA-Morrison, has been taken on a 25-year lease.

Similar to the restaurant pictured above it will operate under the title All Bar One. It has a public house licence and overlooks Festival Square, an area which is currently being redeveloped. Bass Taverns estimates that the facility will be open for business early next month.

The company's acquisition manager, Martin Clarkson, said: ''This is the first Scottish outlet of All Bar One.

'We were determined that it should be in Edinburgh, where the customer match is the closest in terms of existing clientele at its other locations.''
