AMATEUR Pat Faulkner was banned for 14 days at Redcar yesterday after falling foul of the whip guidelines on Smart Guest, who finished eleventh.

He was adjudged to have broken the whip rules on four counts and stewards' secretary Patrick Hibbert-Foy reckoned it was the ''third-worst'' case he had seen.

qBig-priced winners were in abundance yesterday and The Herald tipsters were quick off the mark.

Chris Russell had an 11-1 double with Ansellman (11-4) and Young Dalesman (9-4). Among his other winners were Dina Line and Friendly Knight, both 12-1.

White and Gold had a 4.5-1 double with Shahrani (4-7) and Celestial Welcome (5-2), while Ruzen (12-1) was selected.
