qLeading Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien has confirmed Saratoga Springs a runner in the Dante Stakes at York on Wednesday, for which 10 horses were left in yesterday.

''While he will improve for the run he's ready for the race,'' said O'Brien of last season's Racing Post Trophy winner. ''Michael Kinane will ride.''

Last season's Royal Lodge Stakes winner Teapot Row is also set to reappear in the race, amd trainer James Toller received a boost when Teapot Row's galloping companion Zimiri won at Lingfield yesterday.

Toller reports Teapot Row fully recovered from a minor setback he suffered two weeks ago. ''That night it looked like he had got a leg and I was suicidal. But when we scanned it there was nothing there and he had obviously just given it a knock. I should think the race will do him good but he's very fit.''

Heading the line-up is Border Arrow, third in Saturday's 2000 Guineas. Also among the acceptors are City Honours, whose owners Godolphin also left in the Guineas seventh Almutawakel. Michael Stoute's Greek Dance and Henry Cecil's unbeaten Dr Fong are also in the #85,000-added event, which is invariably a good trial for the Derby, and fell to subsequent Epsom victors Erhaab in 1994 and Benny The Dip last year. Betting:

2-1 Border Arrow, 7-2 Saratoga Springs, 9-2 City Honours, 5-1 Greek Dance, 7-1 Dr Fong, 10-1 Almutawakel, 14-1 Teapot Row, 20-1 Almandab, Impressionist, 33-1 Greenlander.
