A LAND-HUNGRY developer is scouring the East of Scotland for new sites and redundant commercial buildings.

In an increasingly tight land market around Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife, housebuilder Barratt has gone public on the acute shortage and is appealing to people who might have sites to sell.

''We have significant funding available to acquire land and would invite landowners and agents who might have parcels of land of more than two acres to contact us if they wish to realise the value of their land,'' says managing director Roy Whitson.

He is in the market for all kinds of sites, large and small, greenfield and brownfield, rural or urban. Empty industrial premises could also fit the category.

''Recycled land and redundant commercial buildings have been part of our development portfolio for some time and they currently feature in some of our leading developments within Edinburgh and Leith,'' says Roy Whitson.
