aGRAEME Armstrong - 42 next month - is ready for another season at the heart of the defence for relegated Stenhousemuir, and he is ready for life in the third division.

He already has set the record for the number of appearances by an outfield player, and yesterday he rejected suggestions that he could be ready to quit.

Said Armstrong: ''I have re-signed and I am looking forward to next season. I have always kept fit and throughout my career I have been involved in professional athletics during the summer as a sprinter.

''Don't forget, I played in every game in the past season.'' However, he may cut down on the midweek appearances next term.

Manager Terry Christie has given free transfers to long-serving David Roseburgh and to Bobby Law.
