Egil Olsen last night admitted Celtic have made an approach to make him the new Parkhead manager, as exclusively revealed in The Herald on Tuesday.

The Norway manager has revealed the Scottish champions have contacted his agent and asked what he plans to do after the World Cup.

However, the agent the Parkhead side have had to contact is Gunnar Kjennar - the man Celtic striker Harald Brattbakk accused of taking an unfair slice of his transfer fee to Scotland.

Olsen said: ''I have been told, through my agent, that Celtic have inquired about my plans after the World Cup.

''They have said they will contact me again soon.''
