FOOTBALLING legend Johnny Hubbard, right, was yesterday awarded an honorary MBE in recognition of his services to the game, as well as to the local community and in particular young people.

Known as the Penalty King, Hubbard, who played for Rangers for ten years, and Bury and Ayr, after arriving from South Africa in 1949, was given the honour at a ceremony in Ayr's County Buildings by the Lord Lieutenant of Ayrshire and Arran Major Richard Henderson.
