Police search two houses

Police investigating the murders of two prostitutes have searched two houses in Plant Crescent, Silkmore, Staffordshire, it was confirmed yesterday.

A 33-year-old man who was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the deaths, was still being questioned as officers and forensic teams from the Leicestershire and Staffordshire forces moved into the addresses.

It is thought residents were moved out while a detailed search of the properties was made.

The body of 20-year-old Samo Paull, from Rowley Regis, West Bromwich, was found in a ditch at Swinford, Leicestershire, in December 1993.

The naked body of Ms Tracy Turner, 30, from Stafford, was discovered three months later by a motorist driving along a country lane at Bitteswell, a few miles north of Swinford.

She had been last seen alive at the Hilton Service area on the M6, in Staffordshire, in March 1994.
