AN election agent for one of the candidates defeated at Govan in the General Election last year has been charged by police in connection with election expenses.
Mr Tariq Malik, who acted as election agent for Mr Badar Islam, was charged yesterday at Govan police office in Glasgow.
A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said: ''A 49-year-old man will be the subject of a report to the procurator-fiscal.''
