EDINBURGH Castle has made it into the top ten visitor attractions in the UK for the first time.
The British Tourist Authority placed the castle, which had 1.2 million visitors last year, ninth in its annual survey of the most popular attractions. It was the only Scottish venue to make the list. In the category of historic houses and monuments, it came second to the Tower of London.
