HIBERNIAN will have the most expensive season tickets in the first division next season after the club agreed to keep ticket prices the same as they were for their games in the Premier league.

That will mean supporters will pay #260 for a centre-stand ticket and #235 for the north stand to watch home games at Easter Road. Club chairman Tom O'Malley said the club decided to keep the prices at the same level in an attempt to bring in cash for manager Alex McLeish in his campaign to bring the club straight back to the Premier League.

However, the proof of how successful that will be will be seen in the next few weeks as applications start to come in.

Their season ticket sales will be boosted if McLeish manages to land midfielder Grant Brebner, who he will continue contract talks with on Monday. Two Premier League clubs are believed to be interested in the youngster who came to Easter Road on loan from Manchester United.

Chairman O'Malley claimed the idea to keep the season ticket prices the same as last season had been floated by supporters and that they accepted that the club should keep premier prices to ensure it maintained premier standards. ''Our run-in at the end of the season under new manager Alex McLeish showed that we have players of Premier standard and we want to maintain this level rather than let the club adopt the mentality of a small-time club,'' said O'Malley.
