A motorcyclist who died after a collision involving a car near Dumfries was named yesterday as 43-year-old Andrew Thomson, from Victoria Park, Lockerbie.
The accident happened on Saturday night on the Lockerbie Road a few yards from its junction with the A75 Euroroute on the outskirts of Dumfries. Mr Thomson was trapped underneath the car until released by passers-by and taken to Dumfries Infirmary where he later died.
