POLICE were stunned when a driver who was three times over the drink driving limit asked them why he had stopped him. Police had watched Stuart Carle, 24, leave skidmarks of more than 100ft after he smashed into a lamp-post before driving off. Carle, of Fraser Road, Dingwall, admitted drink and careless driving at Dingwall Sheriff Court. Sentence was deferred for reports.
