A young mother yesterday admitted posing as a qualified nurse to spend more than three years working in hospitals and nursing homes.

Nicola Oldmeadow, 27, pleaded guilty at Gloucester Crown Court to two charges of obtaining a pecuniary advantage by deception, two of attempting to obtain a pecuniary advantage by deception, and two of attempting to obtain property by deception. The case was adjourned until July 10 for pre-sentence reports.

Oldmeadow, of Gloucester, was released on bail. Judge John Foley warned Oldmeadow, who is married and pregnant, that she could face a prison sentence.
