A priest in Stepps, Lanarkshire, has been put on leave of absence after being reported to the procurator-fiscal over alleged indecencies.

A spokesman for Strathclyde Police confirmed that the man had been the subject of a report to the fiscal. A spokesman for the Catholic Church confirmed that a 74-year-old priest in Lanarkshire was on leave of absence and had been replaced by another priest, but declined to discuss the reason for the leave.
